Has anyone ever thought of the option of searching the database by rating? Although the ratings are not always accurate, they do provide a means of getting to the cream based on popularity. If anyone qualified is interested I would definately like to see something like this available. Also, maybe a "rating column" in the "list view" could be done, or used as an alternative to "search by rating".
Thanks.

Re: Search by Rating
Well, that feature is already implemented in the Advanced Search section. Also in case a game entry has a rarity you can click on the rarity number and get all other games (on same media) having the same rarity.spunkydunky wrote:Has anyone ever thought of the option of searching the database by rating?

I think you misunderstand me Andre. What I am talking about is the 1 to 10 "rating" for each game. It's displayed in the lower right hand corner of a given game's info page. The "rating" number is based on users voting how much they like the game on a scale from 1 to 10. It has nothing to do with "rarity".Originally posted by Andre:

I think this would be a nice field to use for a search option, as it would produce a list of games based on popularity (e.g.: list all games with a popularity rating of 8 or higher). This would be a helpful feature for people who are new to the atari 8-bit and would like to see what games are regarded highly for the system.
Hope this helps. Thanks for your reply.[/i]

Thanks for adding file listings which are based on ratings etc. Helps in scanning for goods games.
Why the cut-off at 100 though? The 100th game is rated 9.0. That means that there are many other highly rated games not being listed. Especially considering the number of files in the archives.
Anyway, it's still pretty good to have the addition of this feature the way it is. Also, thanks for the great service you are providing to the Atari community and the preservation of the platform. Great files and great information. Many thanks for all your efforts.
