IN-STORE DEMONSTRATION CARTRIDGE CXL4019

Post by JamesTheOrangeCat » Thu Dec 07, 2006 5:24 pm

Is there something special about this recent auction, or did this sell for a lot more than it usually does?

Maybe people saw the Pogoman auction and decided that Atari stuff was becoming more valuable. :mr.green:

PS - Since this sort of relates to rarity, I hope you don't mind me posting here...

This is getting ridiculous. It's not even boxed...

Tangentially-related:

Is this available for download somewhere? I don't see it here. I have a hacked up version of an in-store demo that changed it to be rather crude, but I haven't found the original. I remember seeing it running on the computers in the store when we bought my Atari 800.

Is there any difference between the in-store demonstration cartridge in the brown case with the yellow lettering, and the cart in the gray case, light gray label, with black and rainbow lettering?

The one with the rainbow lettering is a lot harder to find! Identical otherwise.

That makes it all the more weird that the earlier auction went for $68, whereas this went for $11. Atari collecting is fun!

I have this cartridge. I got it by accident thirty years ago. I bought what I thought was the Basic cartridge for my Atari 400 and this cartridge was in the box by mistake. For some reason I didn't return it. I later bought another Basic cartridge. I don't know why but I've always liked the In-store Demonstration Cartridge.
