Roklan games...

Does anybody have precise info on later Roklan programs? Their educational line was programmed by Scott, Foresman and Company and some of the titles announced (Picture Parts, Reading Flight...) are nowhere to be found. Were these ever published (they were probably meant as tape games)? What is the status of Pyramid Puzzler? Proto or official tape release?

Roklan released 10-15 games for the A8 and some for the C64. They had some arcade ports like Wizard of Wor or Gorf, some re-releases and fun games of their own like Deluxe Invaders and Diamond Mine. They had other arcade conversions planned (Rockball, Eyes...) but the titles never materialized.

This has to be clearly confirmed but some of their programs ended up as protos (Da'Fuzz, Lifespan) and others like Star Mazesaw limited cartridge release. Some other educational titles developed by Scott, Foresman and Company were planned on tape (propably to cut production costs), boxes were shown but the games (Reading Flight, Picture Parts...) are still "ghosts", unless they sold in very low figures... Also still trying to determine whether Pyramid Puzzler is official or proto (it's available as a binary).

A fellow whose dad worked for Roklan sold a group of rarities on the usenet some years a ago (mid-nineties?) . Among them were Lifespan, da fuzz, picture parts and even Pursuit of the pink panther! I don't recall that Pyramid was in there. I assume that they were all protos. Of course, I saw no pictures of them.
