Help me If you CAN!

I have WIN+800 and 3 games. I have been trying for a week to get any or all of these working with NO SUCCESS!! Sheer desperation has now set in!
1) Seven Cities of Gold- game comes up, loads, then wants a map disk, that i do not have?
2) Boulderdash - Comes up but I cannot start it, no idea of keystrokes
3) M.U.L.E. - Says you have to use a joystick, i don't have one and I can't get it to emulate one

I use XFORMER 2000 FOR WINDOWS and I believe it is version 8 and i never have any probles.
