Post by Shadeaux » Tue Apr 12, 2005 3:25 pm

has anyone used these remore control wireless joysticks? I am looking at purchasing a set from "Game Mate 2" supposedly new in box. How do these conect to the atari itself? is there some sort of reciever that needs to be plugged in? Also, what kind of batteries do these things require, and how is the range for these?

Personally, I don't like them.

They're slow, and unreliable, in my experience.

It's very much a personal thing. I can see that they might be nice to have from a collector's point of view, but, for me, they are pretty useless for gaming.

Yeah, on AtariAge, there were a couple of threads about them, the general consinces is that they are not that great. Seems they take a 9v battery that lasta about 3-4 hours max, and both have to be on to work, etc.

Think ill stick with corded controlers. I got a set via eBay yesturday, but they dont work fully :x I think ima have to change the lil metal dome contacts in them and re-heat seal the boards. Not that big a deal really, easy to work on, but still a disapointment.
