While browsing through the net I found some interesting facts (source):

"Actually Coleco is short for the Connecticut Leather Company." A LEATHER-company ?! :shock:

Indeed. I only live a few miles from the original headquarters and my Father-in-Law worked for them in the years before they decided to make video games. He was the guy who built and maintained all the factory machines. They were one of the first companies to mass produce naugahide (faux leather) which was named after the place were it was invented (Naugatuck, CT). :wink:
