Looking for a car game name

Hi everyone.
I am looking for a game which I haven't seen since approx. 1988.
It was a game in which you drive a car on the highway. The car was able to shoot and you could drive into a truck to get new weapons, etc. The game view was from the top.
Some friends of mine remember the gameplay but no one could recall the name of this game. Please help
