I am running Linux Mint 12, and I installed the atari800 emulator software, and it works except that I get the following:

Unrecognized variable or bad parameters: 'VIDEOMODE_HOST_ASPECT_RATIO=0:0'
Failed to stat runtime directory /home/andrew/.pulse/18c7691f933dcc7695af128100000005-runtime: Invalid argument
Problem with audio:
Sound is disabled.
joystick 0 not found
joystick 1 not found

How do I get sound and joystick to be emulated?

I realize that this forum is not geared to the emulators or knows how to handle Linux, but I would like to give it a try. Thanks.

I can't help with this but you could try the Altirra emulator perhaps this will work? (It's currently supported by the authors too)
