New here and hoping to find info

Post by sharintheluv » Thu Nov 20, 2008 4:50 pm

Hi All,
I am wondering if i might get some help and info.
I was given a box of items from my Mom's house when she passed. In this box was a lot of things from my childhood that was mine when I was younger (boy that was a while back  )
Anyway in that box was my old Atari system. as well as the case full of cartridges and some tapes.
It has all the papers booklets, printer, controllers.
The best part is the games still play on the system. I had my kids in here who are big time XBox and WOW players playing Pong and Qbert and many others.
Of course it did not hold interest long LOL
The thing is it is taking up space. While I loved the walk down memory lane. I honestly would rather sell the stuff and buy my kids Christmas.
:D
I have little knowledge of what to ask in regards to price nor where to sell them. I really am not crazy abut shipping and all that and would love to locate someone local to do a Cash and carry type thing.
Any help on what to ask should I sell it as a compete collection and ask one price or ??

Oh the System the one says Atari400 the other says Atari 800XL.
The games and tapes are various from Ms. Pacman, PacMan, dig dug, Missile command, Donkey Kong, Centipede, PitFall, QBert, etc.
It also has a printer, all connector things, and the controller things. I have all owner manuals etc.
They are Not in the original boxes or anything but the cartridges and tapes are in good shape and as i said still play.
Any help is welcome.

Thank you
Marie

Not worth too much I'm afraid. Maybe $40-$50 for the lot. I would list them on Craigslist and see if you can find a good home for them with someone who will keep them running.

sounds like a good plan. I did not really think they were with a lot but figured no harm in asking. :D

The value will depend on the software, to some extent.

A rare game in the bunch could be worth more than the rest of the gear combined.

Probably around $50, if you find a buyer.

I doubt these games are rare they are the usual Pac man Ms Pacman QBert, dig dug
I believe those were the more popular at the time.

I will post them and see what happens

Thanks again for the info and help

Nope sold them yesterday for 50.00. Thanks to those games I and my kids will have a Thanksgiving dinner. :D

I likely would have kept them in the closet if not for the lack of money. I would have never tossed them though.

Thanks again for all the help.

Have a great Holiday
