Another name the game!

I had an atari back in the mid 80`s and loved every minute i spent on it,but there is one game whos name eludes me and is driving me crazy!!
Basically it involed flying towards a tower to destroy it whilst avoiding the obvious nasties,played a bit like buck rodgers but there was a countdown till you reached the tower
Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction!
