I never thought somebody would ever try to combine the Ballblazer tune with some hip-hop, but it has been done:

Ballblazer feat. Beastie Boys (mp3-file)

Maybe there is a Kate Bush conversion, too? Bertrand?

Saw this a while back. The musician of that one prides himself in doing all kinds of varied remixes.
I notice that Remix64 will sometimes stretch the definition of C64 music to include music ported to the 64 from other computers.

There are some really great songs on that site. Look up "Stormlord"

You refer to this particular version ?

Are there other sites that feature conversions of ingame songs from 8- and 16-bit machines? Are there conversions of the Alternate Reality tunes available somewhere? Also, I prefer acoustic versions - any idea where to find some?

Yeah that's the one. I love that song.

The only other big remixing site I know is OCRemix, but it leans heavily toward Japanese console remixes. There is a nice version of AR's Ganthem here: http://www.salingeez.net/AR/armusic.htm
