Atari Editor Assembler cartridge case

This ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1 ) case seems to look different than a lot of the Atari cases I have seen.
Most of the brown Atari cases I have seen seem like they are mostly metal, but this case looks like it is plastic. Do you have any idea if the plastic cases were something that was done very early, or only in some regions, or this is a copy, or...?
