Highest one I've seen is the Infocom Starcross
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... eName=WDVW
No big surprise really. For a laugh, read the question asked the seller on the first day of the auction. basically says "I am the buyer and our company needs this item" Yeah that works every time with rare stuff

Sorry Andre for the outbid on Protector II (and btw, you'll receive the promised tests programs shortly).
But my outbid was nothing in comparison to the ones in other lots! Who is that mshortland? Somebody knows him?
Of course he must be wealthy. But it not just an issue of money. He must be a real Synapse fan. Might be a former Synapse programmer or perhaps even ex-owner (Mike Potter perhaps) ???
Otherwise it wouldn't make any sense. I never seen him bid, at least not that high in non-Synapse auctions. And there were some lots with titles much rarer than these Synapse ones.
mshortland ogten outbided me on VCS games but I think that now he has all the rare VCS games

He never lost auctions, it's incredible, I remember that he spent for about 900USD in old video games magazine for 2 weeks

He must have now a fantastic collection...

That sounds like our Nigerian friends again...

Most of the people posting in this thread have been outbid by Mr Shortland (and one or two
have outbid him). He seems to have been collecting forever...but he keeps buying stuff.
It was one of his purchases that started this thread.
That Starcross price was unbelievable, although I think the last shrinkwrapped one was over $800 too.

Lol. In all these cases (have seen similar rip-off attempts already) I always wish the seller would publish the Ebay id of the one that asked.

Really?

Who? When? On what lots? I remember he even outbid Peter Olafsen a couple of times.
I still insist that something is strange. I never saw him bid on A8 non-Synapse titles.
Btw, something interesting in this last Synapse batch. I never seen such high prices on
Tape versions as here. Did you?

I remember an
Ultima for the Apple II computers that went for nearly $1300.
Also I have seen an
Ultima I for Atari 8Bit that was sold for $750. Interestingly, the buyer was neither mshortland nor peterolafson.

He bought a Sirius cart game from me last year...
As for the outbid question, my hard drive recently turned into a paperweight, so I've lost my saved ebay auctions

and I can't be specific about that.

I was thinking about recent sales. For the computers, I remember the original "Softporn Adventure" for the APPLE II being extremely high, but do not remember the final price.
This Starcross is C64 but the A8 price is similar, I think.

Oh, he is very interested in early titles made by Sirius

Currently someone at ebay.de offers a complete and unused
Alley Cat for only

299 Euros. That's too much, I think.
