one file at a time???? totaly insane!

and am wondering a simular question....

I have been downloading one game at a time and going by the rating
(yellow smiley) in referance to if you have it or not and now they are gone.

it serves no purpose other than to make more load on your server to do this as I and probably most everyone else will have to check every page now and tie up more time and load. why not if you allow people to download the files do you make it diffacult? you either offer them or not. it would seem anal to offer them and then make it diffacult? or am I being obtouce? I will continue if it takes me the rest of the week, so I see no point. I am sure there are others that feel the same way, and I think their should be a combined zips for each catagory or letter of the alfabet to download at once. these files are so small there could easily be done into batches of 100 each. but anyway, nice site and lots of stuff and if you relly want to get mean... just block my IP.... oh thats right... you cant! haha dont dialup suck!

ok now that I have beefed Ill ask a question:
when are you going to ad programs and software lists?

PS: I am not mad or upset even though it souds that way, I am just wandering why you would goto so much trouble to make it diffacult to download more than one game at a time. thanks for reading my flame.

Hi,

Don't worry, we're just dropping the smilies in favor of another system and you'll still be able to know what we have and don't have. A lot of visitors found the smilies confusing so we are going for something else. Just be patient.

The database is being updated on a nearly daily basis so I don't think it makes much sense offering downloads of games by letter. We do understand it can be penalizing for some people but, then again, we're for quality, not quantity. It would also attract more people who would just fetch the packets and not come back after a year.

Please understand this is still a recent project. We may very well change our minds in the future when most of the gaps are filled in.

programs and software, as in programs and software other than games that was available for the atari computers.

for example:
atariwriter plus
black rabbit copier
disk wiz
B graph
printer utilities
modem utilities (almost useless to most people)
the various DOS's
atari basic (for those who dont have it)

or any home brewed programs peeps have made
for the atari computer and other things of this kind.

I understand about the rest, but it would be so easy
just to allow access to that one directory where they
are all stored if new ones are added that often?
since most of em are all in one place it shouldnt be
that hard to modify the htaccess file to allow this dir:
