Dumping 5"25 disks to modern PCs

Hi,

Does anyone know the procedure to copy a old Atari 8 bit 5"25 inch disk onto a modern PC. I assume you need a 5"25 disk drive but does it need to be an Atari drive or will any 5"25 drive work and are there cables available to connect 5"25 drives to a PC? Also is there software to convert the disk image.
