There is no "clean" solution without extra hardware. There are software called "Translators". Their purpose is exactly to let you run programs on XL/XE machines, that otherwise will run only in 400/800 models. But they are mainly designed for tape and disk based software. I think that some support c...

However, Krotki does have a point about some Polish games with particular copy-protection schemes. I know, and I agree with that. My point is that not every dump that doesn't work under Atari800 is not original. And that then, a perfect 100% original dump might need to be patched to work (currently...

If an image has to be patched to work properly under Atari800 emulator, then it can mean two things: 1. the dump is good, but the emulator can't load it, or 2. the dump is bad; in particular, some data which cannot be dumped, is missing. Now, Atari800 can load almost all images dumped by WAV2CAS (t...

Re: Two small observations about the VAPI section
Hi, 1. I'm having no problems in loading any of the VAPI releases but Choplifter!. I have tried with OS/B and XL, but all I get is a blue screen. Anyone else having that problem? A newer version of the toolset is available. Note that you can't just update VAPI.DLL alone. The newer VAPI.DLL won't wor...

Not yet . Such a (write back) tool will be released. Note however that the write back tool will require at a minimum an enhanced 1050 (Happy/Duplicator/Speedy). And for most newer protections you will need more , a Catweasel or a Discovery Cartridge. Tools for Linux will be released very shortly. If...

I would like to see both ATR and ATX for download. I agree that for some reason or other, there will be always need for cracks (personally, I have nothing at all against cracks). But I think that Atarimania approach is more geared to a structured preservation. You could always find cracks in other ...

Re: Newbie question.... how can I do it?
Hi Ray, My question is with my Mac and all the hardware can I get the games from my original floppy disks into my Mac and play them and also to keep and archive them away for the future when the time comes my ATARI gear dies. Most original disks are copy protected. You won't be able to do that, at l...

All the labels are fake. Read carefully the full description. The seller admits the labels (but not the disks) are reproductions. He claims that they were all stored in bad condition and then all labels felt and discoloured. There is an additional issue that the disk on Exodus has notches for both s...

Somebody believes the “tale story” this seller is claiming? I don’t
Same story on all his other lots, at least the Atari ones.
