I'm 99% certain that BD2 wasn't released for the Atari (separately by First Star, I mean). Interesting, you mean that it wasn't released for Atari, but yes for other platforms (such as C64). Or you don't know about other platforms? FSS website suggests that it wasn't actually published for any plat...

That is a very good point, Frog. So may be it was released for a very short time before the Super Boulder Dash release. But in such case it should be so rare that even First Star Software doesn't have a copy. If you look at their web site, you will see that the boxed scan is the Super Boulder Dash o...

Boulder Dash II
Are you sure there was a release by First Star Software?
First Star Software web site suggests that it was only released (at least in the US) as part of Super Boulder Dash by ECA.

It was produced or at least given out in very small quantities, as a mask rom, not eprom. I see, thanks for the clarification. I'm surprised that with such low quantities it was manufactured in mask rom. But this certainly changes the possibilities of making a counterfeit. Of course, it is still po...

Running VAPI images of Electronic Arts titles. There is currently a bug in the Atari800 emulator core that affects all Electronic Arts titles. It includes earlier ECA games like Archon I or MULE, and later ones like Archon II, Racing Destruction Set, etc. The bug affects all Atari800 derivatives li...

Totally crazy  THIS CART HAS BEEN CONFIRMED TO BE REAL FROM THE MODERATOR AT THE ATARTAGE.COM FORUM. I HAVE PICS OF THE CIRCUIT BOARD THAT ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. I'm not saying it is a reproduction. But how in earth can he be so sure. If it was produced in big quantities, then it might h...

More about MULE sales ... Interview with Danielle Berry (MULE lead programmer) ... "Actually, given some caveats, it didn't do all that badly. It sold 30,000 copies" ... "It was during the days when players would say 'Have you heard about "M.U.L.E.? You want a copy?'" ... (Seven Cities) Was it more ...

VAPI prerelease (play the original Alternate Reality)
First public release of VAPI tools is available (as a preview) for Atarimania users. You can now play the original Alternate Reality on Windows. VAPI is a project for preserving Atari 8-bits software in its original unmodified (which usually means copy-protected) form. It provides tools for imaging,...

Yep, need to get a 5.25" drive too. I have one, but it's 1.2MB and I doubt that'll be too successful (although some people claim they do work fine, I'm not going to count on it). An 80 tracks (1.2MB) drive is ok for imaging, but it is troublesome for writing back. That is, if all you want is make i...

The MK4, in theory , should work with the MAC. But I'm not sure anybody actually tested, and I'm not aware of any driver or software for the MAC. This is probably obvious, but note again that you need a 5.25 drive on your PC if you want to handle A8 (or C-64) disks. I forgot to mention that the MK4 ...

What do I need to copy protected disks ... Yep, I'll have a talk with Ijor whenever I get the thing up and running! Probably have some stuff worth preserving. :) Considering you are a C-64 user (and perhaps an Amiga user as well) your best option might be a Catweasel plus a 5.25 PC drive. The Catwe...

re: MULE Another thing that sort of gives away that it sold well is the fact that I don't think I've ever seen a shrinkwrapped MULE. Has anybody in here? Most of the other EA titles were sold in bargain bins later, shrinkwrapped and all, and they pop up now and then when old warehouses are discover...

I'm not sure it's a maintenance issue. All the times it happened to me, I just needed to ckick once (or twice) again and didn't get the error message any longer. So it can't be a maintenance time issue; unless maintenance can lock the pages for a few seconds, unlock them for another seconds, and loc...
