What about an Homebrew Watch List on the main page ?

What about an Homebrew Watch List on the main page ?
It could be located below the Top 10 A8 views and Top 10 A8 downloads.

At first, it could include Sheddy's port of Space Harrier, Bry's take on Warlords, Analmux' adaptation of Super Mario Bros 3, etc...

What do you think ?

All right,

It seems nobody has any packaging or box for Cygnus X1 so, correct me if I'm wrong, but I presume the title has never been released officially.

Off to the next topic...

Datasoft Arcade Series Scans

Hello Gang,

Is it normal that the scans for the Datasoft releases of Pole Position and Pac Man are so small ? (there's no issue with Dig Dug for instance).

still on the disk image

John,

It's still there if you check the disk image with Hex Edit (or a text editor).

Also, the disk version that I got in the mid-nineties didn't have any "cracked by" message.

Hope this helps.

Cygnus X1

Hello Gang, Does anybody know if Cygnus X1 has ever been released by Atari UK (Atari Frog told me it started as an Anco title) or is it a proto / beta ? In case it's been released, would someone have access to the packaging ? It's far from being a good game (way too frustrating and difficult - even ...

Graphic Upgrade

Atari Frog, Quite cool ! Since I'm working on the double GTIA upgrade by Analmux, it's interesting to know that something of that nature has already been achieved in the past. I am very curious to get some screenshots from that program. Any dump (probably useless without the cart) coming soon ? AB.

Battlezone 3D Vector Engine

Hello Gang,

Does anybody know if the 3D vector engine of the Battlezone XE release is identical to the 5200 proto ? Or are the two releases completely different ?

By its blend of raster graphics and vector, the 5200 looks a lot better than the XE cart - maybe a hack wouldn't be too difficult.

Bruce Lee / Best Electronics

André & Atarifrog,

The full story is here:

http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/xe_game.htm

If that prototype uses the xe bank select cartridge then it may really come from Atari US (let's ask Nir if his releases contains the loading / intro screen).

Count me in

What the A8 needs now is a worldwide approach (even more North American users interested in European software) and more US programmers writing games in machine language. Count me in. My current project is to produce a protoype board of the GTIA (or double GTIA) upgrade by Analmux. I have all the sc...

Good to see you !

Oesii, It's good to see you here ! :D I agree, let's give a little bit more time to Atari Mania. Interestingly, I expected Al to open the Atari 8-Bit section on Atari Age earlier this year but no news so far. Anyway, Atari Mania does a kick-ass job for the Atari 8-bit line (Vive La France !) and I m...

How to make Atarimania popular

Good morning gang, The web site is getting better every day but still is very young. I presume that when both the 2600 and XL/XE databases get beefed up to the point where almost everything is available, the traffic generated will hopefully near the one drained by Atariage. Also, I'm wondering how w...

quick note about Urban Legends...

Back in 1996, myself and atarifrog (hello BM) had dinner with Bradley Koda from Best Electronics. We talked a little bit about the MIA Commando cartridge (where did the screenshots published in Atarian Magazine come from, etc...). Anyway, Bradley told us that Commando was not completed, that maybe J...
