Déjà vu
Another new look for Atarimania and again I can't seem to find the news archives.
Am I missing something obvious?

Weekly and/or Monthly archives
The new look is great. However, I do not see the update archives listed any longer, formerly at the bottom of the main page. Has this feature been removed?

"Autoboot image" will work with boot tapes. If the emulator was installed using the Windows installer package, then you can also simply double-click the cassette file to achieve the same thing. Of course, the procedure is slightly different for a BASIC program, but the instructions for such .cas fi...

Re: Basic Atari 800 Win Plus Problem
How do I get rid of this warning: "A ROM load error prevented Atari800WinPlus from booting. You should check the rom settings under Atari/ROM Images menu" Also, how do I run games and apps on this emulator? Sorry to ask, but I am a total newb to 8-bit Atari Emulators. Thank you. One thing I would l...

Re: How to connect a joystick VCS 2600 to PC (db9<=>db
Hello I want to connect a joystick ATARI 2600 to my PC, but, what I have found is not so clear. I found this but, ATARI Joystick has only 6 connectors (I have opened mine), and not 7 ...and they do not explain where is 1 and where is 9 .... same for 1 and 25 ... http://www.jackypc.com/index...

Don't get me wrong. Ernest Shreurs did a great job with the CAS format and like I said the CAS format is quite enjoyable when used with an emulator. When it comes to converting tape, well I was glad to recover anything at all of my own material. It was a pretty low percentage due to my using cheap, ...

Re: .cas files
Quite a few game dumps have been appearing on the site as cassette images recently (.cas files). Does anyone have any comments about using this type of file? Yeah, the format is a nice idea but too nastalgic for me. Loading CAS files to an A8 is just as slow as using a genuine tape player. Perhaps ...

Re: 6502/PC cross-assembler
This is the only one that I could find. I haven't tried it myself.deathtrappomegranate wrote:Any recommendations for a cross-assembler for the A8/PC?
Windows GUI would be nice, but not essential.

At the SIO protocol level, the device identifier is a single byte. So SIO must combine the value in $300 with the one in $301 in a single byte. As I said, it adds both values and subtracts one. Then, for example, $31 + 1 – 1 = $31, which is the identifier for disk drive one. The convention when cal...

Re: SIO Patch in Emulator - documentation available?
Notice _ddev (Atari name - DDEVICE, $300) is wrong. It should be $31 for all disk drives. The WriteSector and PutSector routines have the same mistake. I assume the SIO Patch trapped the calls and ignored them. Not sure. I've done enough speculating lately. The exact behavior depends if you are cal...

Re: SIO Patch in Emulator - documentation available?
[See Update below] I looked at the SIO routines and as far as I can tell (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, anyone) the "SIO Patch" is actually an Un-patch. The SIO calls are never bypassed but when the "patch" is activated the false timing latencies get set to zero, well some of them do. The ro...
